Τόσο ως κτίριο όσο και ως επιχείρηση, από την ίδρυση της, το Hotel Evridiki ανήκει στην ίδια οικογένεια, η οποία το διαχειρίζεται με αγάπη όλα αυτά τα χρόνια. Το κτίριο κτίστηκε την δεκαετία του 70, με την όψη του πάνω σε δρόμο που αποτελεί και την κεντρική οδική αρτηρία που διασχίζει την πόλη, ενώ από τους εξώστες του υπάρχει απρόσκοπτη θέα σε όλες τις μεριές της πόλης. Κατά την οργάνωση των απλών δωματίων σε επίπεδο κάτοψης, η ντουλάπα και το μπάνιο τοποθετήθηκαν από τη μία πλευρά της εισόδου ή εκατέρωθεν αυτής, ενώ το υπόλοιπο της κάτοψης αφέθηκε ελεύθερο για το κρεβάτι και τις υπόλοιπες χρήσεις, ενώ στις σουίτες η κάτοψη είναι λίγο πιο σύνθετη. Από την είσοδο, ευθεία στο βάθος, βρίσκεται το σαλόνι και εκατέρωθεν αυτής, οι δύο ντουλάπες, οι οποίες αφέθηκαν ανοιχτές. Ωστόσο, στη ντουλάπα της εισόδου, ένας συρόμενος καθρέφτης μπορεί να την καλύψει επιλεκτικά. Οι υπόλοιπες, ιδιωτικές χρήσεις, βρίσκονται στα αριστερά, διαχωρισμένες από το σαλόνι με μία σύνθεση τοίχου και κατακόρυφων ξύλινων περσίδων. Το μπάνιο αποτελεί συνέχεια του χώρου του κρεβατιού, ενώ η τουαλέτα απομονώνεται με ξεχωριστή πόρτα.

Στο επίπεδο των υλικών και της αισθητικής κατεύθυνσης, οι σκούρες καφέ αποχρώσεις των επενδύσεων καρυδιάς στους τοίχους συμπληρώνουν τις μπεζ αποχρώσεις του δρύινου δαπέδου. Σε κάποιους τοίχους έχουν εφαρμοστεί ταπετσαρίες με γεωμετρικά μοτίβα, οι οποίες σε γκρι/μπεζ και ανθρακί αποχρώσεις ενισχύουν ακόμα περισσότερο την αίσθηση ζεστασιάς που οι αρχιτέκτονες ήθελαν να πετύχουν, ενώ ταυτόχρονα λειτουργούν ως ένα ενδιαφέρον υπόβαθρο πάνω στο οποίο σε πρώτο πλάνο εξέχει το κεφαλάρι του κρεβατιού από τη μία και η σύνθεση της τηλεόρασης από την απέναντι πλευρά. Ο κρυφός φωτισμός των πάνελ που δημιουργούν το κεφαλάρι και τη βάση της τηλεόρασης και στηρίζονται στους επενδεδυμένους τοίχους με ταπετσαρίες, δίνει μία αίσθηση αποκόλλησης των δύο επιφανειών και φωτίζει τα γεωμετρικά μοτίβα των ταπετσαριών. Λεπτές ανοξείδωτες μεταλλικές λάμες δημιουργούν έναν κάναβο μεταξύ των ξύλινων πάνελ των επενδύσεων, ενώ λάμες ίδιων διαστάσεων καμπυλώθηκαν για να δημιουργήσουν τις συνθέσεις των καθρεφτών, της τηλεόρασης, τις κρεμάστρες των μπάνιων και άλλες κατασκευές. Τα μπάνια επενδεδυμένα από λευκά πλακίδια με επιφάνεια μαρμάρου τύπου «Carrara», φωτίζουν τον χώρο και αποτελούν το ιδανικό φόντο για τα επιχρωμιωμένες αξεσουάρ. Στην ίδια λογική, οι πάγκοι, τα τραπέζια και τα κομοδίνα κατασκευάστηκαν με επιχρωμιωμένα μεταλλικά πόδια και λευκές επιφάνειες που φωτίζουν τον χώρο και προσδίδουν λάμψη. Η αφαιρετική διάθεση και η γεωμετρική απλότητα του σχεδιασμού έχουν καταφέρει την επιθυμητή ισορροπία μεταξύ λειτουργικής αρτιότητας και συνθετικής ζωηρότητας των χώρων. Τέλος, μία συλλογή ασπρόμαυρων φωτογραφιών, προσεκτικά τοποθετημένων, εισάγει την τέχνη στους χώρους.

Οne family owns both the building and the business of hotel Evridiki and is also responsible for its management since its establishment in the late 70s. The building has been built in the 70s and its main façade overlooks the central road artery that crosses the town. Furthermore, from the balconies there is an unobstructed view towards the northeastern and southwestern parts of the town respectively. On a floorplan level, the closets and the bathrooms have been placed either on one side of the entrance or on each side of it, while the rest of the floorplan has been left free for the bed and the rest of functions. For the suites, the floor-planning has been a bit more complex. Entering the suite, the living room is found straight ahead, while on each side of the entrance there are two separate closets, which were left open. However, regarding the first closet placed just after the entrance, there is a sliding mirror which can cover it partially. The rest of the private functions, were placed on the left side of the floorplan, separated from the living room by a partition wall as well as fixed wooden plank screens. Τhe bathroom constitute a continuation of the bedroom while the toilet can be isolated by a separate door.

Regarding the aesthetic direction of the redesign and materialwise, the dark brown shades of the walnut wood paneling of the walls complement the beige shades of the oak floor. On the rooms’ walls, various types of gray/beige or anthracite geometric wallpaper have been applied, which contribute to the cozy feeling that the architects wanted to introduce in the spaces. At the same time, the wallpaper functions as an interesting background on which, both the headboard on one side of the room and the composition of the television on the opposite side stand out. The hidden illumination behind the wooden panels, which are hanged on the walls covered by wallpaper, gives a sense of detachment of the two surfaces and illuminates the geometric motifs of the embossed wallpaper. Thin, stainless steel blades create a grid between the wooden panels, while blades of the same dimensions have been curved in order to create mirror compositions, television frames, towel hangers and other accessories. The bathrooms are covered with white tiles with a Carrara marble finish, which “illuminate” the room and constitute the ideal background for the accessories. In the same sense, the benches, coffee and bedside tables were made by chrome-plated metal legs and white lacquered surfaces, which also “illuminate” the spaces and provide a sense of brightness. The subtractive mood and geometric simplicity of the interior design have accomplished the desirable balance between functional practicality and synthetic vividness of spaces. Finally, a collection of black and white photographs, carefully placed in each space, create a more intellectual and artistic sense in the hotel rooms.
